Is Revival Possible?
I'm not really going to do an introduction on this post I am just going to jump in feet first, so here goes!
I was visiting a church recently, it was the first time I had ever been there before. My family and I were sitting there listening to the message when the Pastor proclaimed that "Revival was NOT going to happen." I was somewhat shocked at this proclamation, so of course I had to write a post concerning my thoughts on the matter. :)
My question and main thought this time is: why don't people believe revival is possible?
Answer: a pure lack of faith. They think that things are too bad now days and they apparently believe God isn't powerful enough or strong enough to turn things around.
People who don't believe revival is possible are showing their obvious lack of faith. They are saying that even though God has done it in the past, HE can't do it now. They seemingly believe that times have changed and God has changed along with it.
Let me ask something:
Where is the faith in God that Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego had? They were being thrown into a fiery flame, yet they said that "Our God whom we serve is able to deliver us..." (Daniel 3:17 KJV).
And as they said, God delivered them. Has God changed since then? Has he lost HIS power?
Where is the faith of Noah, who though he had never seen rain, built the ark as God instructed him. And may I add, Noah withstood a lot of mockery for this act of faith. Yet the rains came and Noah and his family were saved. Has the God who saved Noah and his family changed? Has HE lost HIS power?
Where is the faith of Moses, who led the children of Israel through the Red Sea, upon DRY LAND?
Has the God of Moses and the children of Israel, who led HIS people through the parted waters changed? Has he lost his power?
Let me answer my own questions: God has not changed, His people have no faith!
The only reason revival isn't possible is because of our unbelief. Matthew 13:48 (KJV)- And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.
Our God is a God of the impossible! Trust HIM!
